SO

Again, thanks to everyone for the likes and reblogs. Makes a gal feel appreciated.

I’m currently reading this amazing book of poetry called Louise in Love by Mary Jo Bang, and this stanza has been running around in my head since I read it on Friday:

Across the room, five fish in a tank made six meager moves,

the last through the castle that kept them

denizens of a splendid

language they spoke sotto voce.

"Then I'll educate you."
"Corrupt me, you mean."
"Sometimes they're the same, don't you think?"
"They are?"
"You learn something; you aren't innocent anymore."

"The music ended and hissed in that secret place between song and needle lift; the arm settled into place and the record spun slowly to a stop, like a tire on a fallen bicycle."

Day 23: A book you’ve wanted to read for a long time but still haven’t

The Letters of John & Abigail Adams. I love these two. And my mom gave me a collection of their letters a couple of years ago for my birthday (so exciting), but I haven’t gotten around to them yet.

Also The Enchantress of Florence by Salman Rushdie. A bunch of my English-major friends read it and loved it.
